RAW Image Recovery

A RAW image recovery is a process nobody wants to do, yet at times it could be the best thing you could ever do. Encountering a loss of pictures on your digital camera, memory card or an external flash drive due to corruption, or accidental deletion, is a reason for performing a photo recovery. RAW images are non-processed files on external storage devices that become JPEG or Bitmap images when uploaded to your computer. Loss of these images can cause devastation to anyone.
Some scenarios that may cause images to be corrupted or deleted are:
Basic Human Error: Accidentally hitting the "Delete All" key on a digital camera or deleting pictures on a USB drive is a major culprit.
Memory Card Corruption: Removing the memory card out while taking a photo, or recording a video, can cause files to become corrupt.
Formatting: Sometimes when a memory card is inserted in a computer a message pops up stating the "disk needs to be formatted" before it can be read. Choosing the option to format the card will erase any photos and/or data saved; therefore, the need to do a RAW image recovery arises.
Transfer Errors: While copying or moving photos to a computer a power outage could occur, causing a power outage; hence, corruption to the data properties on the memory card. Using a heavy duty surge protector can serve as an excellent precaution.
File Corruption: Accidentally turning off a digital camera, or ejecting it by mistake, can cause file deletion.
Careful handling of your memory card, or other external storage device, can help protect irreplaceable pictures, yet what can be done if this happens and photo recovery is essential.
By performing an online search RAW image recovery software can be found to help undelete precious photos. There are some good freeware programs or limited trial offers; when the process of photo recovery is performed the first time, the trial is worth it.
Keep in mind, a RAW undelete is only an option if data is not added, or pictures taken, before recovery of it or drive is performed. Doing this will overwrite any chance of undeleting your files.
How to avoid a RAW recovery: Always backup memory cards, make sure they are write-protected by sliding the notch on the side and choose no if a format warning appears. Loosing precious pictures no longer need to stay that way; photo recovery can now be accomplished.
