Project Google Glass

Project Google Glass is a research and development program by Google to create an augmented reality head-mounted display. The glasses are already being sold to the developers and the official public release date is scheduled for early 2014. At present, there is no idea regarding the price of the glasses but it will be somewhere around the average price of a smartphone.
Project Google glass is a hardware which provides all the Google services in the band that wraps around the user's head. It is based on Google's Android operating system and has showcased a major interest towards photography and video. Sometimes, we are not able to capture a scene, a life event or a beautiful moment just because of the time needed to take out our smartphones from the pockets and switching on the camera but. With Google Glass, you can simply order the device through voice commands to take a picture, make a video, and share them with friends as Google glasses are eyeglass frames which provide a small computer display in the user's field of vision, it is like a device which was never available in the market.
Google glass has only one USB port and that's used for charging purposes. It includes a small screen in front of the user's right eye, motion sensors, GPS and either 3G or 4G data connections. It has a front-facing camera with a flash and can even connect to a smartphone via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 4.0. Here are the full specifications.
The most striking feature of project Google glass is that the user can use their voice to master the device. The main idea behind using this is to deliver augmented reality along with the relevant information of the surroundings, whenever required. Presently, the main focus of developers is to increase the battery life of the glasses from 6 hours up to full day.
The main reason behind the popularity of Google glasses is that as soon as it's activated, the user can order it to capture pictures, videos, start hangouts and can even get the directions. The user can even get notification and texts while wearing glasses.
Besides all these facilities, the developers are doubtful about some problems that a person can face while using glasses. The main concern is that various pop-ups while web browsing and it can cause an embarrassing situation in front of a person's eye in case he/she is using glasses. The other problem can be regarding the privacy of web history. So to make Google glass a hit, the developing team is determined to make glasses problem free.
As we all know, the concept of wearable computing is not new, but Google glasses are expected to make a strong remark in the techworld because of the name "Google" attached to it.
